Connect with Your Community

Welcome to We’ve Got Time to Help!

Our Mission: To serve the entire community, no matter their race, sex, color, creed, sexual orientation, religious or political affiliation, age or economic status. We support our neighbors through multi-faceted contributions to communities, none too big or too small, and strive to assist those in need with respect, compassion, caring and understanding. We want to encourage, not just the people of Portland, Oregon but people of every city and town in this country to truly make a difference in the lives of others through dedication and commitment to volunteer efforts and to bring a sense of community back to our neighborhoods.

To give you an idea of what we are talking about, here are just a few examples of projects that we have done. Repaired a leaky faucet for someone that couldn’t afford to hire a plumber; Rebuilt a fence that had fallen during a storm; Helped people move that didn’t have the resources to do it by themselves; Gathered donations of food, clothing, and furniture for a family that had lost everything; Repaired a roof for a family home; built a wheelchair ramp for someone that had recently become disabled. We have been able to help 100′s people/families over the last year and a half. From quick and easy projects to multi-day events. It has been a more worthwhile adventure than anything we have ever experienced in our lives. Our goal is simply to make this a better world to live in and, hopefully, change a few lives in the process.

Here are some companies that have donated time, energy, and resources to WGTTH and all the people we help! Please give them your business and help spread the word about their services! Thank you!

Volunteering in America- In collaboration with partners, including volunteer and service-driven organizations across the country, The Corporation for National and Community Service (the Corporation) produces Volunteering in America as part of its mission to improve lives, strengthen communities, and foster civic engagement through service and volunteering. Each year, the Corporation provides opportunities for approximately five million Americans of all ages and backgrounds to serve their communities and country through Senior Corps, AmeriCorps, Learn and Serve America, and other programs and initiatives.

Serve.org – “United We Serve” is a nationwide service initiative that will help meet growing social needs resulting from the economic downturn. With the knowledge that ordinary people can achieve extraordinary things when given the proper tools, President Obama is asking people to help lay a new foundation for growth. This initiative aims to both expand the impact of existing organizations by engaging new volunteers in their work and encourage volunteers to develop their own “do-it-yourself” projects.

Corporation for National & Community Service – The National Conference on Citizenship measures, tracks and promotes civic participation across the U.S. Guided by our Congressional Charter and the values of NCOC, we commission and publish the annual Civic Health Index, a quantitative means for building program consensus and measuring success with the goal of strengthening citizenship in America. In addition we hold the Annual Conference on Citizenship that brings together leaders in the civic engagement field to set concrete and ambitious goals to promote a more active and involved citizenry.

Take the Pledge - I pledge to spend at least 4 hours this month strengthening my community so America never becomes a Third World nation!
